Genre
In week one, the key conceptual term we related to in our design process is genre. The definition of architecture genres is style of architecture, type of architecture. There are lots of different kinds of genres in architecture area, for example, Byzantine architecture ,classical architecture, Greco-Roman architecture, Moorish architecture …Vaughan, M. and Dillon, A. (1998)mentioned, "classificatory category or scheme for the analysis of texts". For the first week, we decided the genre of our house, it is a modern beach house. It is closer from what we learned this classes. At first we made the list of every parts of our design, we created the house according to this paper(figure1).Our idea came from figure 2, and figure 3 is our blueprint. We changed the orientation of the building. We design a corner between the buildings and both sides are connected ,this design could make space bigger, to provide people enough space to do activities. It also has the big swimming pool and terrace. As for materials, we choose glasses instead of walls, therefore, people can enjoy the sunshine in the room. Inside of the buildings, we designed some places for people to enjoy their time, we designed lounge, reading room, as well as bar and barbecue station on the roof. People can have good holiday in this model style house .
