Connotations space is the key term what we focus on this week. For design area, connotations are through an object to express its representational meanings. Lacey, N. 1998 mentions that if we exchanged just one word as part of same paradigm , it will have different connotation .In this week,we decided to use black as outside wall of our house(Fig.1), it is more special than other houses in the surroundings. But we still chose traditional white wall inside(Fig.2), because if still use black as inside wall, the whole house will be very dark also make people depressing. The main function of house is for vacation, as a designer, we need consider all factors that we can think of. Meanwhile, we choose black and white flooring(Fig.3) rather than footcloth, because the style of this house is modern , the connotation of the floor represent the decoration very fashionable. Another reason is that flooring is convenient to clean. Maybe it will bring the good mood for people. Moreover, we decided to use sound proofing, the people who come here must want to have good rest and enjoy their holiday. There are connotations in our design, I think we considered reasonable for client’s demands.
