Classificational Structure
. In week six, the key conceptual term we concentrate on our design process is classificational structure. Classificational structures relate the depicted participants as if they were in some ‘“kind of” relation, a taxonomy’ (Kress and van Leeuwen, 2006: 79) and can be recognised by their symmetrical layout. This week, our group focus on objects' size , shape, color as well as the distance between each area. We used classificational structure in our own design. As you can see, on the first floor, the Leftmost picture, we can see a bed and a toilet, we used rectangle as our main shape on first room, as for the figure 2. we designed two beds one bedroom, they are similar size and same color, and we also added a big bed. The same with leftmost room on fig.1. The four beds are same shape but different size. We designed a family room for 3 beds which on second floor. This room can accommodate at least 4 people. As for the distance, we designed four space separated by three doors, also these four spaces have similar distance. For the middle room and the rightmost room we used the similar shape and color to made them. We can classification things from object itself and consider about classify comprehensive. We designed both single room and family rooms, they can give clients more choices to allot rooms, we think it is good for clients to have a hoilday togther in this house.
